If you're looking for a real leg-burner this is it! I wouldn't recommend this hike for littles, but it's a fun climb for bigger kids and the views are beautiful! From the parking area, it's a steady climb for a 1/4 mile and then you can either branch off to the right or left. The trail continues to climb, but past this point you now have the benefit of some trees and shade. This trail continues for miles, so climb as high as you like and then return the way you came. For a detailed map, I recommend subscribing to LaGrandeRide (map for Glass Hills available here)
Trail junction where you can head right or left and the trail now has some trees.
Towards the bottom of the hill. It is a fairly steep climb and a fun one to run back down!
We didn't have time to explore much of this area, but I definitely would like to make a return trip and climb higher up the ridge. It's a great hike to get some training in before the snow melts from higher elevation hikes.
Getting Here:
Parking to access the Glass Hill area is in the Ladd March Wildlife Area west of Foothill Road by the big barn.
